Sofia Mestre aka Clothilde is a colorist, photographer, painter and more, who “only” discovered herself as a musician at 40. Her work draws on the heritage of post-minimalists, improvisers and open-minded composers such as Pauline Oliveros, Maryanne Amacher, Daphne Oram, Eliane Radigue or Delia Derbyshire, to make music using exclusive modular electronics built by her partner Zé, aka HOBO, to create new emotional and aesthetic landscapes.

Perhaps due to her relatively late arrival to music-making, she possesses a punkish directness which intersects with a notable life experience, making her unique blend of clarity and flow of thought and musical structure stand apart from that of most of her peers. Everything on her debut record ‘Twitcher’ (released by Labareda) pulses as a living thing – a record well worth listening to by one of Lisbon's most exciting artists in 2018.
